For many artificial intelligence and machine learning startups access to computational power and expertise is a barrier to accelerating their growth. The Machine Intelligence Garage exists to support AI and ML startups from across the UK. The programme provides the following benefits:
The opportunity to work with Machine Intelligence Garage’s experts provides cohorts with the opportunity to learn and develop, leading to greater market positioning and growth.
Through the access to greater computational power and expertise, Machine Intelligence Garage is the perfect place to foment new ideas and test, learn and explore new market opportunities.
Programme participants are provided with a range of tools that centre on helping startups use data and run operations more ethically and responsibly, whilst embedding good practice within the company and product.
In addition to computation power, including cloud credits for AWS, access to deep learning servers and specialist hardware; the Machine Intelligence Garage also offers technical support activities such as partner office hours, focused workshops and regular meetups.
Through the investor-focused activities, including the annual Investor Showcase, the programme offers the opportunity for selected startups to grow, develop and raise investment

Machine Intelligence Garage runs multiple open calls throughout the year.
In May, Machine Intelligence Garage selected its latest cohort, 11, which featured solutions varying from an open source approach to reducing greenhouse emissions, video analytics to create more efficient feeding of livestock and bringing AI to immersive audio.
Our cohort 12 of Machine Intelligence Garage focuses on the creative industries and how AI and ML can be applied to visual art and media. The open call closed with a variety of innovative AI startups looking to bring solutions to these industries. More information on this cohort will be available soon.

AI has the potential to drastically change the creative industries, to accelerate new possibilities and push the boundaries for visual arts and media. On Thursday 29 April the Machine Intelligence Garage presented its creative cohort Demo Day. This event shone a spotlight on 11 of the UK’s leading AI creative startups with market ready solutions.
